Window Styles

Shown below are some of the more common window styles available. The images and descriptions can help you determine the style of window you currently have or may want. These styles can be combined with others into a single frame for a unique look.

Single/Double hung image DOUBLE/SINGLE HUNG: This style of window has an upper and lower sash. Doubles, both sash operate. Singles, only the lower operates. Often times you will see this window with a grid in the top TWIN DOUBLE/SINGLE HUNG:
Two double or single hung windows in a single frame. Most styles can be paired together for a twin or even three for a triple set.

Slider image SLIDER: One side fixed and the other slides. This is probably the most common for the older aluminum windows. Newer vinyl styles offer tip in cleaning and smooth roller operation. AWNING:
Commonly used for sub areas/basements and tips out for ventilation. Can be used with a fixed top pane for a nice effect.

Fixed or Picture image FIXED OR PICTURE: Solid with no opening feature, larger sizes are called picture windows. Place two double hung on either side for a nice effect. BAY OR BOW:
Typically a bay has three panes or panels. A bow has four or more panes or panels to it.

Garden window image GARDEN: A perfect over the sink kitchen addition. Available in larger sizes for family-room or den. Anywhere more light and plants will add to the comfort of your home. (comes with adjustable shelving) CASEMENTS:
Most standard double hung openings are perfect for the casement design. Used as a single unit or in pairs or more, popular in bay or bow use, providing ventilation.

Round Top image Octagon shape image  Wedge shape image ARCHITECTURAL SHAPES: Examples of the many shapes available. Used in combination with standard shapes, you can create a beautiful window wall effect.
